Deputy Prime Minister Visits NMU to Encourage Students Affected by War

Phnom Penh, March 9, 2026 – H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, paid a visit to National Meanchey University (NMU) to meet with and provide encouragement to ten students impacted by the consequences of war. During the visit, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron expressed his deep concern for the students’ well-being, academic progress, and living conditions. He offered guidance and motivation, encouraging the students to pursue their studies with perseverance, resilience, and patience, overcome challenges, and develop their abilities to become highly skilled and valuable contributors to society and the nation. The visit reflects the government’s commitment to supporting students, particularly those facing hardships, ensuring that they are not left behind and continue to receive the necessary support to succeed in their educational journey.    

National Meanchey University Celebrates the 115th International Women’s Day

Banteay Meanchey, March 5, 2026 – National Meanchey University (NMU) organized a special event to celebrate the 115th International Women’s Day (March 8) under the theme “Peace and Security for Women and Families.” The celebration was presided over by H.E. Chea Soeun, Rector of National Meanchey University, and attended by university leaders, officials, lecturers, staff members, and contractual employees. During the event, participants reflected on the history and significance of International Women’s Day, highlighting the important role of women in social development. In his remarks, H.E. the Rector emphasized the vital contributions of women in promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development within families and society. The event was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, featuring the presentation of commemorative gifts and a group photo session to express appreciation and encouragement for women who actively contribute to the development of the university and the nation. National Meanchey University Hosts Lecture on “Learning to Become the Person Society Needs

Banteay Meanchey, January 19, 2026 – National Meanchey University (NMU) organized a lecture entitled “Learning to Become the Person Society Needs.” The event was held under the high presidency of H.E. Chea Seoun, Rector of National Meanchey University, and was attended by Mr. Yim Samnang, Deputy Governor of the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Administration, Venerable Pech Chansihea, Abbot of Khosatharam Pagoda (Srah Chak), along with university leaders, lecturers, staff members, and many students. During the event, Venerable Pech Chansihea delivered educational guidance and encouragement, highlighting the importance of education, moral values, and self-discipline as key foundations for building a meaningful life and contributing to sustainable social development. In addition, Mr. Yim Samnang presented a lecture focusing on the importance of goal-oriented learning, personal capacity development, work discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility. He encouraged students to continuously improve their skills and knowledge in order to become qualified human resources capable of meeting the needs of society and the labor market both now and in the future.    

National Meanchey University Concludes 2025 Football Tournament with Awards Ceremony

Banteay Meanchey, January 18, 2026 – National Meanchey University (NMU) hosted the closing ceremony and award presentation for the 2025 NMU Football Tournament at the university’s football field, celebrating the achievements of participating teams and students. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Chiv Sarith, Vice Rector of NMU, representing H.E. Chea Soeun, Rector of NMU. Also in attendance were Mr. Chhou Bunroeung, Vice President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), Banteay Meanchey Province, representing Mr. Ke Soun Sopheap, President of UYFC Banteay Meanchey Province, along with university leaders, staff, and students. The tournament aimed to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and youth engagement in healthy activities, fostering friendship and collaboration among students. The event concluded with the presentation of awards to the winning teams in recognition of their outstanding performance, dedication, and fair play throughout the competition.
