National Meanchey University Strengthens Cooperation with Confucius Institute
Banteay Meanchey, Cambodia – March 14, 2026 — H.E. Chea Soeun, Rector of National Meanchey University, welcomed Prof. Zhang Lin, Director of the Confucius Institute (CINUBB), together with Chinese lecturers, for a courtesy visit and a working discussion aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two institutions.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on several key areas of collaboration, particularly focusing on improving the quality of Chinese language education and training at the university. The discussion highlighted the importance of enhancing language education to better prepare students for academic and professional opportunities in an increasingly globalized world.
As a result of the meeting, both parties agreed to further improve the quality of Chinese language instruction and to expand joint cultural activities organized annually. These initiatives are expected to promote greater cultural exchange and strengthen mutual understanding between Cambodia and China.
In addition, the Confucius Institute expressed its commitment to assisting National Meanchey University in identifying additional Chinese partner companies. This initiative aims to create more internship opportunities and expand career prospects for students pursuing Chinese language studies at the university.
